Frequently Asked Questions About Picnic In Perth

    Cottesloe Beach

A well-known destination but nevertheless one of Perth's best picnic spots. The benefit of Cottesloe over the other beaches in Perth is that it has large areas of grass with great views of the ocean, meaning no sand in your food.

Potato, pasta and tuna salad dressed in mayo and kept in warm temperatures can spoil the party. These salads need to be kept cold — at 41 degrees or below — otherwise they can make picnickers sick. Once again, storage can be a problem, especially when it comes to raw fish.

Bring small, soft cushions to sit on.

In addition to a picnic blanket, consider bringing a few soft picnic pillows to sit on. You could even match the blanket with the picnic pillows to create a truly beautiful and luxurious experience.

Sandwiches, pies, Scotch eggs, sausage rolls and chicken drumsticks are considered classic picnic treats for a reason - they're all finger foods that travel well. Layer up a picnic baguette with salami, spinach, basil, pesto and mozzarella for a mouthwatering bite with or create a colourful veggie rainbow sandwich.

It's so much easier than you'd think!
    • Your foundation is important.
    • Carry a dedicated picnic basket.
